Christmas For Sure

Let’s make Isa. 7:14 personal, “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign.¨
I want us to l look at a couple of truths.
First and foremost, God is always faithful to His word. All of those comforting promise verses you read when you need help or have lost hope …you can be assured that those promises made by God, will be kept.
Second, Jesus was God coming to you as a man. You could not save yourself, but God loved you enough to come to you. Jesus came to set you free from the curse of sin. This gift is PERSONAL. IT IS FOR YOU! Catch that? For all people. The Hebrew word “you” in Isaiah 7:14 is plural and means all of you! Do you remember what the angel said to the shepherds who were watching their flocks by night? In announcing the birth of Jesus, Luke 2:10: “But the angel said to them, Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.¨
God loves you so much that He sent you a personal Christmas present in the form of His son. The baby Jesus grew into a man, and died upon a cross for your sins, and God raised Him from the dead. Today, if you will put your faith and trust in Him, you can receive the greatest gift ever given to anyone – eternal life.

God Loves The Family

We all are part of a Family!

1. If you’re married and don’t have kids, or they are no longer in the home, you are still a family.
2. If you are a single parent, you are a family.
3. If you are single, you are not second-class. Scripture celebrates singleness. 1 Corinthians 7:8: “Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I am.”
4. Children are a blessing from God, not a burden to bear. Psalm 127:3: “Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him.”
5. The home is the principal place for learning and teaching God’s truth from generation to generation.
6. Everyone in the church is to partner with parents in the task of connecting kids to Jesus and equipping them to be growing and faithful followers of Jesus. You may not have children of your own but we need you to plug in to the lives of children in this church because it takes a family and a church to raise a child.
7. Every parent can learn how to be a better parent.
8. Even grandparents can learn how to be a better grandparent.
Deuteronomy  6 tells us to
1) Let God be the center of our home! God’s decrees or commands were to be observed and lived out. Moses tells us to give reverence to the Lord. Fear is another word for reverence. I believe we as a people have lost a healthy fear of the Lord. Notice I said healthy. We tend to forget that sin brings consequences. I will be less apt to sin if I believe there will be punishment for my actions. You get the picture.
So, as we live with a healthy fear of the Lord, observing His commands, we will live and enjoy a full life! ref. the Milk and Honey verse. Milk being our Necessities and Honey being our desires or wants!
God desires that relationship with you, so that He might Bless you!
2) Live out what He says! so that ‘It may go well with you’ and ‘you may increase’!
You see God wants the best for you and your family! He asks for a couple of things,
   1- Obedience 2- Love
3) Love God with all that you are! We are to have the knowledge about God, but it doesn’t stop there. You see, that knowledge, I mean, really knowing God, will lead you to love Him! Sadly though, some will miss heaven by about 12 inches. That’s about the distance between your head (knowledge) and your heart (love). Moses wants the next generation going into the promised land to hear what he is saying, and I want pass along my faith to my children and grandchildren. Don’t you…
Deut 6:1-6
“These are the commands, decrees, and regulations that the Lord your God commanded me to teach you. You must obey them in the land you are about to enter and occupy, 2 and you and your children and grandchildren must fear the Lord your God as long as you live. If you obey all his decrees and commands, you will enjoy a long life. 3 Listen closely, Israel, and be careful to obey. Then all will go well with you, and you will have many children in the land flowing with milk and honey, just as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, promised you.
4 “Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. 5 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. 6 And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today.
God Bless You, and God Bless The Family
